Camp GeeDee is a great place created for nature and adventure loving corporate denizens of Bangalore who are scouting for a great nature getaway. Just 35 km from Bangalore , on the edge of the Bannerughatta National Park (and far away from the zoo and safari enclosures!) is Camp GeeDee . It is located on a property that is stunningly rugged. GeeDee has been meticulously designed to offer a unique outdoor camping experience to city dwellers as well as hard core campers.

The big idea is to enjoy nature and its marvels and learn a little about them- identifying birds and their wonderful calls, getting to know forest trees, wildlife tracks and signs and what it takes to save these treasure troves of nature.

Though Camp GeeDee is not a resort, it has been designed to offer basic comforts to campers. High quality tents, modern hygienic bathrooms, a large lecture cum dining area make GeeDee an ideal camping getaway. The Kitchen is equipped to serve fresh vegetarian food, tea, coffee and biscuits.

Camp GeeDee is ideal for outward bound corporate training programs.

Activities

Bird watching: If you want to go birding, carry out small research projects on birds and small mammals, Camp GeeDee is the place for you. 200 species of birds have been recorded in and around the campsite. Rare species like the Yellow-throated bulbull find safe habitat at Camp GeeDee . All 200 species have been photographed and displayed on site for quick reference. Please carry your own binoculars.

For the adventure loving guys, there's a whole platter of activity:

Mountain Biking: We have marked trails ranging from simple flat terrain to moderate and advanced downhill descends. The trails are in loops of 3-5 kms which start from the campsite and end at the campsite. The trails
are a combination of single and double lane with steep uphill and downhill tracks with absolutely no trail traffic.

Treks: Into Bannerughatta national park and around campsite can be organised. Local experienced guides will accompany the group. The duration of trek can range from simple 1 hr to 5 hrs. The terrain is undulating, rocky and dry deciduous forest.

Rock climbing / Bouldering: Access routes have been cleared to most commonly used boulders. Bouldering area is well shaded therefore one can spend all day around them. They are located in the forest around the campsite with not more than half hour walk to the site. New boulders can be opened by visitors without disturbing the immediate surrounding and keeping the campsite authorities informed. Regular Bouldering courses will be offered over the weekend. Crash mats will be available on site for hire. Please carry ur own first-aid kit for on field need. We do have a comprehensive first aid kit at the camp site.

We also have special nature education packages for city students who rarely get an opportunity to experience and learn the wonders of nature in the field. Special customised activity packages are also on offer for groups on request including day camping facilities. All adventure activity will be conducted by trained and experienced resource personnel. Resource persons are first aid trained and are experienced to handle any first aid emergencies.

At Camp GeeDee we are making constant efforts to make your camping experience enjoyable and fun. More facilities are being added with little or no impact on the wilderness. The campsite is run by a bunch of very eco conscious no nonsense people and the same is expected from those who want to visit us.
