To get upclose and personal with the colossal Himalayas and get a taste of culture, join us for the Gaumukh Tapovan Trek. You start the trip with a long but beautiful road trip to Gangotri, along the Bhagirathi River. The trek starts from here. You will find Gangotri bustling with sages who have journeyed here to pay homage at the source of the Ganges, the most revered river in India. The spiritual intensity of Gangotri, one of India's most sacred pilgrimage sites, is palpable as you witness the daily Puja at the temple.
At Gaumukh, one sees water gushing out of a snout like opening. The awe-inspiring view is no doubt revered by one and all. As you weave your way from Gangotri to Tapovan, every twist in the trail reveals another stunning snow clad Himalayan giant. The beauty of Tapovan is something words can’t do justice to; undulating alpine meadows, network of gurgling streams and the ‘almost next to you’ presence of some renowned Himalayan peaks makes it one of the most awe inspiring sights in the region. We will camp right at the base of the Shivling peak (6543m, called the Matterhorn of Garhwal). From Tapovan we retrace our steps and come back to Gangotri and Drive down to Rishikesh/Haridwar to catch the overnight train for Delhi.

Garhwal, as lots of trekking connoisseurs would testify is surely the finest place for trekking in India but for some inexplicable reason it doesn’t attract as many trekkers. This ensures that there aren’t too many people walking the trails in this region. This trek is one such best kept secret. So if you’re looking at a remote trail leading to varied mountain terrain with not too many people for company, this one is for you.
We start our trek from a point a couple of kms ahead of Ghutu village and move up from here crossing beautiful forests, alpine meadows and some interesting villages with Hindu temples to reach Khatling cave. From here we walk to the zero point on the Khatling glacier to appreciate the beauty of high mountain terrain. From the glacier we cross over to the other side to reach Chowki, an absolute gem of a place. With meadows and Himalayan peaks all around it’s great camping place and one can spend days here. From Chowki we ascend over a slightly tricky terrain to reach the high lake, Marsar Tal (4590m). En route we get a spectacular view of high mountains like Thalay Sagar, Jaonli, Kirti Stambh and Bharte Khunta rising above the Phatling glacier.

This is Himalayan trekking at its best! Trek to Kalindikhal (Kalindi Pass – 5950m), without a doubt is the most challenging and rewarding trek in the Indian Himalayas. Set in the spiritual land of Garhwal, you come within touching distance of some very big mountains and walk in between them, find your way through a maze of glaciers, camp on spectacular meadows, get to see the holy Ganges come out of its source and visit two of the most ancient shrines in the country. Not to forget the high of climbing an almost 6000m pass in the Himalayas. All this comes with a set of challenges. The remoteness of the trail augmented by the altitude of the pass (almost 6000m) gives it the flavour of an expedition and requires meticulous planning. Weather plays an important role. One needs to plan for bad weather days. Also the presence of crevasses, step climbing through snow around the pass, walking in high altitude region and a few tricky river crossings mean that this one is not for beginners.

This is an exploratory trek through the absolutely remote country side in the western region of Garhwal Himalayas. This trail was known only to shepherds and local people until very recently, and has no habitation along it. It’s a challenging trek with plenty of rewards for even the most seasoned trekker. After taking in the breathtaking views, we descend into the Ruinsara valley before crossing over to the other side of the river and reach upper slopes of Thangi meadows. From here we walk to the base camp for Bali pass. Next day there’s a delightful section of walking on top of a ridge before reaching the top of Bali pass (4780m). summit of this pass is relatively easier than the DDK pass.
