About the trip

(We have 10 fixed departures every month during the season)

This trek to the internationally acclaimed Valley Of Flowers is a must do for all flora lovers and for people who love mountains. This UNESCO world heritage site was discovered by the legendary British mountaineer and author Frank S Smythe on his way back from a successful climb to Mt. Kamet way back in 1931. This national park is situated in the upper expansions of Bhyundar Valley in the interior regions of Garhwal Himalayas. Spread over an area of 87.5 sq. kms., the valley is at an altitude of 3250m and above and plays home to more than 300 species of alpine flowers. Big attractions here are the Bhramkamal, Cobra Lilly & Blue Poppy flowers. Big mountains of Ratban Parvat and Nar Parvat and several waterfalls flowing down the surrounding ranges provide just the right backdrop to this amazing piece of nature’s creation. Another big attraction for trekkers in this region is the sacred Sikh shrine of Hem Kund Sahib, situated by the banks of a high altitude lake. This climb to the Sikh shrine is a steep one but one is well rewarded on reaching the lake. Hot glass of tea here is something you will cherish for quite some time. We finish the first leg of our trek and head to the beautiful and spiritual temple town of Badrinath.

It's a delightful and short ascent to the valley. Gradient is moderate and the landscape extremely soothing to the eye. It will take about a couple of hours to reach the valley. The beauty of this world renowned valley totally lives up to its reputation. There are unending meadows laden with varieties of alpine flowers, network of streams and big mountains all around. At the entrance of the Valley stands the snow-clad peak of Ratban Parvat, towards the left is Nar Parvat, which separates the Badrinath valley from this valley, and to the right is dense Birch forest on the hillsides.
