This is a unique introduction to the Himalaya for novices and moderately experienced outdoors persons alike combining two modes of adventure travel trekking and rafting- in a relatively secluded part of the lower Himalaya. Our trip originates and culminates at our Tented Base Camp by the banks of the Ganga river 1500ft ASL. In the first part of our adventure on foot, we ascend the watershed divide (8000ft ASL) of the Upper Ganga and her western tributary - the Bhagirathi - and continue down the former on rafts concluding the circuit in the holy city of Rishikesh, where the Mother Ganga enters the plains of India.

This is a self-contained rafting trip. The first 3 days are challenging and would be rated a moderate+ and as the river descends and joins the Ganga it becomes more moderate. Our journey starts at Nandprayag , rafting to Karan Prayag and to Rudarprayag the confluence of the Mandakini with the Alaknanda.
The infamous man-eating leopard was shot in these forests near Rudraprayag by Jim Corbett in 1932, recounted in his book “The Man-eating leopard of Rudraprayag”. Our 8 days 130kms river journey through exciting rapids, secluded beaches and remote villages, ends at Rishikesh, where the Ganga leaves the Himalayas for its onward journey through the Indo-gangetic plains.

The Tons River originates from the glaciers of the Har-Ki-Dun region in northwest Garhwal bordering Himachal Pradesh, and is the primary tributary of the Yamuna. The river winds through the evergreen forests of the middle Himalayan Ranges through a series of Class 3- 4 + rapids that equal any in the world.
Basing ourselves at the Tons Base Camp which operates in summer at an elevation of 4500 ft ASL, we have an opportunity to experience all that the river offers; running two days of its lower stretch ‘expedition’ style, and it’s more challenging upper stretch, from the relative luxury of the base camp itself. Other than the unsurpassed whitewater thrills, the week long program allows you time to relax and explore the unspoilt mountain-scape and get a glimpse into the hardy lifestyle and culture of the nomadic hill folk that reside in the region.

The Uttarakhand region, with its plethora of natural bio-diversity is a delight to explore. With a constant need to explore the untouched, we head out to the Saryu River, with its emerald green clear water - one of the remaining few breathtakingly unspoiled vistas in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. This little known river is a tributary of the mighty Kali River which forms the border between India and Nepal. The Saryu offers fantastic white water, beautiful canyon sections, and excellent camping beaches with a real wilderness feel. Self -supported ‘alpine’ style technical rafting on the Saryu combined with ‘Himalayan’ big volume style of rafting on the lower Kali offers an all-round white-water expedition experience. So why not join us on one of our fixed departure dates and be one of the first to experience this ‘gem’ of a river.

The tribal State of Arunachal Pradesh exudes a sense of exclusive charm, sitting right on the north eastern extremity of India bordering Tibet. It still remains pleasantly lesser known and explored. Perhaps the richest State in India in terms of bio diversity, tribal culture, abundant riverine systems and luxuriant rain forests, Arunachal offers its own share of adventure quotient. Apart from the explorations on Subansiri and Lohit, adventure seekers can now experience the Kameng River for whitewater rafting.
Our 9 days journey to this unexplored wilderness offers world class whitewater adventure, close interaction with the local tribals of the region – the Nishis, and a chance to learn about the vast bio-diversity of the region from the locals themselves.
