Kalmane is situated between the Nagarhole and Wynad forest making this place an ideal base to explore both the parks. The estate adjoins the Nagarhole NP.

The people who own this place, Prabhu and Maya are great hosts. Their warm hospitality will make you feel right at home. Prabhu arranges dedicated jeep rides into the Nagarhole forest and if he likes you he might take you on a night drive into the Wynad Reserve, most of it on the highway but you never know what is in store for you. If you want to learn more about the culture, history and the cuisine of coorg, this is the place to be. You can dig into Prabhu's immense knowledge about coorg and the wildlife in particular.

There are only two rooms for guests and they are pretty large and bright. A great place to spend the evenings is in front of the fire place in the sit-out. The food is ethnic coorgi with a mix of continental and Indian and I can assure, you that you will relish Maya's cooking
