The funny thing about all the incessant and sometimes aimless outdoor travelling is that you discover places and people who are off the regular tarred roads. They are nice, ordinary folks. Except their living rooms just happen to have a lake view to die for. Or their estate is cradled in a lush rainforest.

So I get talking to them and it more often than not turns out that they do have a spare room to let out and no, cooking for a few extra people is not a problem at all. So in this section you'll find some incredibly nice people's homes with some incredible views which are not to be found in any guidebook or with any booking agent.
