Kali White Water Rafting - Wilderness on water!
..............................................................................................................................................

This is the best tropical river rafting experience one can have in India. It is a journey through pristine wilderness, past sun-bleached rock formations and the chance of rare wildlife sighting. No rafting experience is necessary as initial training is provided by friendly experienced guides.

Your journey starts with a jeep ride to the beautiful starting point close to the Supa Dam. Once you are kitted up and a brief safety talk, you hit the river! The first 20 minutes will involve training with various safety drills and paddling techniques. Here is when you will get to know your River guide well. And then the river flows!!

It is 3 hours of adventure navigating the class III to IV River; enjoying the exciting rapids and crystal clear waters of the Kali River. You can also take a swim in the warm clear waters of the Kali between rapids. It is a fun-filled run with its motions of splashes and spills. A journey through beautiful tropical forest which surrounds the river with its exotic flora and fauna. Absolutely rejuvenating!

I forgot to mention that non-swimmers are welcome!!!

The river is dam controlled and pretty much flows from October to June. The best experience is when it is flowing with all gates open. Safety is a priority here, I can vouch for it; I was guiding the Kali river myself for 3 years. It has been a life changing experience for me here at the Kali River. And I simply adore it!

Some Tips:

  • Carry a pair of quick drying shorts and t-shirts
  • A sun cap will help; u will be provided with a helmet which is mandatory
  • Carry good strap-on sandals or comfortable light weight shoes
  • Carry loads of sun-block if ur sensitive to sun
  • Leave ur cash, jewelry and valuables back at the place ur staying
  • Check with guide if u can carry a camera
  • Don't get piss drunk the previous evening and get on the river dehydrated
  • Don't pollute the river and its surroundings

Cost of the trip: Rs 1100/person for a 9km run on the river. Which includes pic-up from Kali camp or Old Magazine house.

One boat can carry 7 to 9 people and there are always two boats on the river for safety. Kali Rafting owns 6 boats in all and safety kayaks with all the required quality equipment; most of which are imported.
