Places we stay is not just about the accommodation but about the hosts who own them. They are very simple, nice ordinary folks who will go out of their way to make ur stay a pleasant one.  Their intimate knowledge of the culture and geography they belong to, is a treat to explore. Having said this we have personally stayed with them and evaluated each one of these places of stay.

Oriental Guest house: It is a family run guest house. Away from the tourist scene of the town and stunning views of the Stok range and Leh town it is a peaceful place. The family is involved in all daily chores of the guest house making your stay pleasant and enjoyable. Indoor and outdoor dining areas are great places to chill out and make new friends. Rooms are large and carpeted with all modern amenities. Solar heated water is available at all times.

Internet access is available at the reception and they have a fine collection of books to dig into.

Asia Guest House: Is in the Changspa area which is a little village 2kms away from central Leh. It is a Ladakhi family run place. Rooms are large and well kept. It has some fine views from the room of lush green fields and the mountains beyond. The garden dining area makes it a nice place to sack out and taste a mix of cuisines from all around. All the veggies are grown in the kitchen garden.

Olthang guest house, Diskit: Nubra valley is short of hotels and to find one fresh clean simple guesthouse with attached bathrooms is a blessing. Olthang is a family run place with white, fresh, airy simple rooms. Food served here is simple vegetarian.

Tent Camps: During our road journey from Manali to Leh we use organised tent set-ups managed by local Himachalis. These tents are wind proofed and are well equipped with beds and layers of quilts. Tents have attached bath cum toilet with flowing hot water for early morning start. Power supply is through generators and they are time specific.

Camping: Camping is a self contained affair. We carry all our equipment right from tents, sleeping bags, mats, kitchen tents, dining tents, kitchen equipment and related stuff. We have camp cooks, helpers traveling with us. They are generally advance parties who travel ahead of us and set up camp before we arrive at the site. Campsites are chosen depending on weather, water and other safety related concerns. We try our best to select camp sites which are away from any human habitation. We follow strict “Leave No Trace” ethics and expect our clients to respect and adhere to it.
