Very interesting names Parsons Valley , Water buffalo sanctuary, Western catchment, Hodgson hut, Porti mund, Krur mund... many more. It is not just the names that are interesting everything is special and magical here,
the crisp cold fresh air, the fragrance in the air, chill evenings, crystal clear water bodies, all of it and mostly isolation from human habitation.

This trip promises pristine trails, exotic remote wilderness, crisp mountain fresh air and more...

The Plan:

Day 0: Leave Bangalore by overnight bus

Day 1: Reach Ooty. Jeep ride to Camp.

Freshen up and relax. Once we are finished with breakfast we will head out to the Mukurti Dam Backwaters. It is a 5 kms walk through rhododendron and pine forest. You will get a glimpse of the Mukurti peak from the backwaters. Reach camp for late lunch

In the evening walk to Parsons Dam close to the camp.

Day 2: Early breakfast and start the trek to Mukurti view point. The terrain is similar to the first day. It will be a long day through some really beautiful valleys and ridges. The gorgeous views of beautiful landscape, crisscrossing streams, waterfalls, rhodo-pine forest, ridgelines, peaks, backwaters make this walk very energising and inspiring. The trail is about 11kms right upto the base of the Mukurti Peak . On trail back visit Porti Mund dam. Reach camp for late lunch and spend the rest of the day in the campsite.

Day 3: Early morning visit to Western Catchment which is part of the Mukurti Wildlife sanctuary. Good chances of spotting the Nilgiri Thar. It all depends on the Forest Department permission.

Late afternoon depart from Camp to Ooty to board the night bus to Bangalore.

The treks will start at 7am on all trek days and we will be back to the camp for lunch, early or late. We will carry water and trail food. The rest of the day will be at the campsite. Campfire will be part of the evening rituals.

Food served will be vegetarian with one Non vegetarian meal.
