Here is a trek that offers well defined trails and impressive views of snow capped mountain peaks that form the southern rim of the Nanda Devi Sanctuary.
Walk through evergreen forest of oak and horse chestnut, through beautiful villages, along river banks, camping on meadows enjoying the breath-taking views of the valleys and mountains.
One of the most popular and accessible glaciers in the Kumaon. Pindari lies at around 12,000ft above sea level in Patti Malla Danpur of Bageshwar District. The glacier lies
in a hollow surrounded by peaks over 6500 Mts. high.
Roughly two miles long Pindari owes its existence to the vast quantities of snow precipitated from Nanda Devi and other high mountains above it. The Pindar River springs up from the foot of the glacier and finally meets the Alakananda River at Karnaprayag in Garhwal.

Raniketh: The British army’s summer capital and at present home of the Kumaon regiment, Raniketh is an all in all Cantonment town. Named after the wife of 12th century ruler Sudhar Deve it literally means “the Queens fields”. Nestled on the foothills of the Himalayas this town is the ideal base for us to recoup from our journey and start fresh towards Pindari Glacier.
Zero point: This is mainly a shepherd encampment and a beautiful meadow. We will spend some time with Babaji who lives most of the year in this remote location.
