Kitchen on call and GO2
..............................................................................
Discover Yercaud with Patsy and Suhas Kunders, both Bangaloreans. Who got fed up of the city life and retreated to this little unknown place in the hills. They run KOC and G02, driven by passion and love.
GO2 organizes treks through the picturesque landscape of the Shevaroy Hills. Trails into teak forests, alongside mountain streams and through verdant coffee estates are breath taking. Suhas loves his walks in the hills and he can customize treks to ur requirements. Anything from a few hours to daylong treks can be organized. Trek to elephant tooth rock is more sought after and it can be organized with pick up from the road head to keep the level of the strain moderate. Other than this there are many trails waiting to be explored with Suhas’s guidance.
KOC offers a delightful menu that ranges from traditional Mangalorian, Chinese to South Indian fare. KOC caters to small families as well as large groups. The spread is great with good quantity. Sanas, appams, stew, honey chicken, pudding, soufflés and chocolate cakes to name a few. Families who want just a few meals here and there can be worked out depending on the menu. For a select few, KOC can cater on the lawn, next to the stream that flows through their land. They also organise barbeques and bonfires.
Place to stay
..............................................................................
Rahm’s Bungalow is an old colonial bungalow run by the Brothers of Holy Cross. Located 15 mins walk from the town it offers an unusual combination of old world charm with basic comforts. There are a couple of good views from the property, ample place to walk and laze around. You can have a blast here, the brothers of the Holy cross will be nowhere in sight and will not disturb u at all.
The huge bungalow has several beds in each room. The accommodation is Dorm setting but does not feel like one. The windows and doors open out into the porch where you can sit and have the views of the hills. Bathrooms are common but there are plenty around. Towels and soap are provided to all. Hot water is available all the time, just put the geyser on. The days spent here is a great experience, very private.
